Apparently I'm bad at realising when I'm enjoying music. This one really took me by surprise I was going 'hmm, I'm not sure this direction works for me' when I was actually listening to the album, but when it was over I looked back and realised I loved most of the songs. I just tried to narrow down my favourite tracks for a twelve-track album and ended up listing nearly half of them, and that's why Minutes to Midnight has to be at the top of my list. So many great songs! 'In Between' is the only song on here I can take or leave I love all the rest, but especially 'Leave Out All the Rest', 'What I've Done', 'Valentine's Day', 'In Pieces' and 'The Little Things Give You Away'. You've probably realised by this point that it's impossible to make a definitive ranking of the albums! But here's my personal ranking anyway:
A huge label obviously is thinking dollar signs, but LP did what they wanted. LP making music for themselves is very admirable, especially with being signed to a large record label like Warner. From your first love to struggles with money or family, music is our bookmark to those times. Things change in life and the music we enjoy goes in hand with that. Their music appeals and attracts to people from all walks of life. And seeing the difference in album preferences is what LP means to me. LP had this stigma after MTM to "go back to their roots" meaning go back to their Meteora and HT sound. I'm seeing list that have HT at the bottom and I find it fascinating. Seeing the contrast in people's list is very fun. It turned out that within his top 3 LP albums is OML, and I'm seeing praise for it here as well. A couple weeks back I watched that guy's YouTube videos on his reaction to his first time listening to Linkin Park. I haven't put together a list and unsure if I'm going to, but I just want to point out how much I enjoy this thread.
